Super Science Saturday – Co-Sponsored by Missouri Western State University & the St. Joseph Museums
Super Science Saturday, January 28, 2017: To be held at MWSU Remington Hall/Agenstein Hall, 4525 Downs Drive, St. Joseph, Missouri, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Held on the last Saturday in January, Super Science Saturday brings educators from Missouri Western State University and area high schools together to present interactive science experiments for children of all ages. Meteorologists from KQ2 and KNPN Fox 26 television stations provide weather related experiments. Admission is $3 for adults and students. Children five and under are free of charge. Parking is free.

Adult and Child Campout at the Henry Doorley Zoo
July 29 and 30, 2016 – Campout with us at the Henry Doorley Zoo and Aquarium® this July. Children are invited to grab a parent(s) or grandparent(s) and join in this adult/child getaway, which will take place on July 29 and 30. Participants will enjoy a sleeping bag safari inside the Scott Aquarium/Shark Reef on the evening of July 29. The visit will include drinks, snacks, an animal visit, and breakfast the following morning. Trip participants will also receive a campout patch and t-shirt. The next morning, campers are free to experience the Henry Doorley Zoo at their own pace. The motorcoach will leave from the St. Joseph Museum at 2 p.m. on July 29 and return the evening of July 30. The cost will be $150 per participant, which includes luxury motorcoach transportation, dinner buffet at the Spaghetti Factory, a visit to the Hollywood Candy Warehouse, the campout, and admission to the Henry Doorley Zoo. So bring your air mattress or sleeping bag and a pillow to join the fun! Space is limited and reservations can be made by calling 816-232-8471.
Join the American Girl® Doll Club!
Each month children learn about a different character, her time period, lifestyle, hobbies, and games she would have played. Children will get to craft an item related to the featured doll to take home with them. The admission fee includes the program, craft session, and a snack. Reservations are required. December 29, 2016 – American Girl® Doll – Make It – Take It Quilt Event – Join in a special event for American Girl® doll enthusiasts at the St. Joseph Museum from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will include making a quilt and pillow for your American Girl® doll! All of the supplies will be provided for 12 participants. There will be a veggie and pizza lunch break and an American Girl® movie will be shown in the afternoon as participants are finishing their quilt project. The fee is $30, which includes lunch, drinks, and all the supplies. The event is limited to 12 guests.
