Super Science Saturday, January 27, 2018: To be held at MWSU Remington Hall/Agenstein Hall, 4525 Downs Drive, St. Joseph, Missouri, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Held on the last Saturday in January, Super Science Saturday brings educators from Missouri Western State University and area high schools together to present interactive science experiments for children of all ages.
How do you get your children excited about science and math? Treat them to the experience that is Super Science Saturday! They can solve the math maze, try biology, physics, chemistry, UV light, & weather experiments; meet amazing creatures, and much more! Presented by the St. Joseph Museums and Missouri Western State University, the day will include hands-on activities related to math and science, courtesy of the faculty of MWSU and area high school instructors. In the chemistry area, MWSU chemistry professors will present their ever popular chemistry shows every 15 minutes starting at 10:30 a.m. Explore the science of health courtesy of Hy-Vee and visit the “Weather Forecasting Technology” area where children can practice giving weather reports in front of a green screen, just like the pros! Be prepared to meet all kinds of creatures including lizards, turtles, tarantulas, boa constrictors, and Burmese pythons too. Programs on the creatures featured this year will be held at 11 a.m. and at 12, 1, and 2 p.m. In the Bushman Planetarium, there will be brief shows every 10 minutes. On third floor, there will be hands-on demonstrations and lots of make-it, take-it science projects.
Super Science Saturday will be held in Agenstein Hall at MWSU, 4525 Downs Drive, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is $3 for adults and students. (No credit or debit cards please.) Children five and under are free! Parking is free! All children must be accompanied by an adult. For more information, call 816-232-8471.

Join the American Girl® Doll Club!
Each month children learn about a different character, her time period, lifestyle, hobbies, and games she would have played. Children will get to craft an item related to the featured doll to take home with them. The admission fee includes the program, craft session, and a snack. Reservations are required. - November 12, 2017: Meet the New Doll Nanea Mitchell (The inspiration for the new doll, Dorinda Makanaonalani Nicholson, will be on hand to share her story at 2 p.m. The public is invited to hear her at no charge.)

- April 8, 2018: Saige Copeland
- May 6, 2018: The Owen Sisters Tea Party at the Wyeth-Tootle Mansion, 1100 Charles Street
